Turning your passion for sport into a career at university in Australia

Abhishek had always wanted to study sport. Realising that the sport industry in India was growing and expanding, Abhishek chose to come to Deakin University and Australia to study his Master of Business (Sport Management).

Now working as a Sport Programs and Activations Coordinator, Abhishek’s role is to connect students to play and engage in sport. For Abhishek, this means ensuring students are interacting with sport at a level they are comfortable with, whether it be social or competition.

Abhishek advises anyone interested in a career in sport to see sport from a different angle, not just as an enthusiast. He encourages all to embrace opportunities at a grassroots level, to volunteer with local clubs to build networks and an understanding of Australia’s sporting landscape.
